Crochet both sides together, you end up where you wool from the start is, so you have 2 strand, tie the ends together and cut of your tail...

To make your body  Your gong to pick up 24 stitches if you can round the outside of the tube you have make, and yes it does have a dip in it, this is too make it fit your thumb...

24 stitches. to start with,,  if your making it like a hat,

you will be adding stitches to each row...
If you don't have 24 increase evenly over the next row the next row till you do have 24, SS to join Mark last stitch.

SC 3 2 Sc in next stitch .6 times          30 ST, SS to join turn
SC 4 2 Sc in next stitch .. 6 times        36 ST, SS to join turn

SC 5 2 Sc in next stitch .6 times          42 ST, SS to join turn
SC 6 2 Sc in next stitch .. 6 times        48 ST, SS to join turn
SC 7 2 Sc in next stitch .6 times          54 ST, SS to join turn
SC 8 2 Sc in next stitch .. 6 times        60 ST, SS to join turn

Keep increasing in this way. till the glove is as high up your thumb as you like,

I had 90 stitches...
You need to mark the place you put the 2 Sc in the same stitches.... only your last row....

SS to the first marker. now fold the glove in half and find the marker behind, join the glove along the 2 sides till you get the the next marker...

I now just Sc around the remaining stitches which will be 1/3 of your Hexagon..., SS together when  you reached the end of each row ,, turn..
You can make the glove as long as you like...bind off and sew in your end...
